Detroit Pistons

Throughout the entire period of the NBA the Detroit Pistons have always been at the top of the list of franchises. They always get very good team players. But they have never seen a Michael Jordan or Lebron James super star on their team. They have had Isiah Thomas and Grant Hill but other than them, there hasn't been a true superstar. And lately our draft picks haven't been the greatest picks seen. But our franchise has still always made some good trades to put our team back to the top. Since Grant Hill has left the team we have been in the playoffs every year except one. Three days ago the Pistons made a great trade with the Denver Nuggets. The Pistons traded Chauncey Billups and center for Allen Iverson. Even though Chauncey has led the Pistons at the point guard spot for many years, Allen Iverson is one of the greatest point guards of all time. With him, Rip, Rasheed, Tayshaun, and Maxceel we will dominate. So far this year we are undefeated. Walter Herman scored 18 points in a game! Is that pathetic or what!? We are going to do very well even though the Western Conference is expected to win the Championship.
Since the Pistons have had Allen Iverson they have not done good at all. Is it that they are not used to the change in Allen's gameplay? Is he more diverse than the rest of the Pistons lineup? Look at Chauncey Billups in Denver. He is number 3 in the MVP race behind Kobe Bryant and Lebron James. But in 2010 we are supposed to get some superstar on our team and will have a very good shot at the Championship. But that is going to be in a few years and maybe won't work out for them.

Baseball

Other than football and basketball I also play baseball. I love baseball. It might not be the most athletic sports but it can be pretty intense at the end of the game in the 9th inning with 2 outs and hitting the game winning run to win. I am going to tryout for the Stevenson Spartans JV team. I broke my arm in April and now my arm cant bend far enough going both ways. So I might have to switch and use my left hand to throw. I have been practicing and I am pretty good at throwing a football with my left but I'm not sure about a baseball. The position I play is anywhere my coach wants me to play except pitcher. But I am mostly played at first, or third base and catcher. Not playing this year because of my arm could put me back a little bit but I think it will be fine come March. I am also a decent batter too. I think I was cleanup for my team the last year I played which was two years ago because of my arm. But I see baseball as a team sport and not s superstar sport. If I don't make the Stevenson team I'm still trying out for two other travel teams. But if I want to do good in the tryouts i'm going to have to start training as soon as football ends and throughout the winter. And a month before tryouts are, I will probably be at the batting cages at least three times a week. So if i make the Stevenson team then that means I will be on 3 different baseball teams next year. Other than football, I hope I can go far in this sport- at least through college. Peace

What is football?

Some people think that football is a boring sport to watch(which makes no sense). But to others-or the ones that know what they are talking about-think football is everything. The big hits echoing on the sidelines as someone gets decked on the ground and watching the player crawling back to the sidelines holding his gut and trying to get some air. And when you pancake that kid you look over to your sideline and you see the whole team cheering for you. That feeling is just one of the greatest things ever. After that you get ready to do it again next play. That is football. http://media.photobucket.com/video/reggie%20bush%20hit/ashniel/reggiebushhit.flv
Football is probably is one of or the biggest team sport. You can't have just one or two players that execute. If one person takes the play off then it can close or open up a hole and cause your defense to get sucked in and your offense to get the hole closed up on. Some teams might have a lot of talent but the players don't play as a team. They just think its all about themselves. When Barry Sanders played for the Lions he could of set the record for the most rushing yards in a season but he just told the coach to just win the game and he didn't play. That's a team player.
To me, when I get taken off the field I am so mad and I am about to just sprint on the field to wreck someone into the ground. That's why you never want to back down playing football. It's an aggressive sport that you need to have the heart to play. Not size or speed-just heart. Football isn't a hobby-it's life.

Whats the deal with the Lions?

The Detroit Lions have never been to a super bowl before. And how they have been playing for many years they probably won't do so well with Matt Millen as the general manager. Every year in the NFL draft the Lions will pick a decent player or one that should be very good. But now everyone thinks its like a curse to come to the lions as a rookie because every year they do awful. Calvin Johnson hasn't done that bad but they still are not where they want to be in the standings. I think every team in the NFL has a pretty good running back-except the Lions. The Lions have not been even close to winning a SuperBowl since their Championship win 50 years ago. They have made it to the playoffs only nine times since there Championship win. Only if Barry Sanders was still playing for the Lions. We would probably be at least winning 4 more games each year then we normally do. We need a true leader and a standout player for the Lions. Someone that we can count on to help win it. Make that 3 guys. Two very good offensive players and a pass stopping corner or saftey. A brick wall defense could help out our team. Most teams get their highest rushing yards against the Lions. And with Matt Millen being fired we can have some relief on our shoulders. He had a 31-84 record for the Lions. Millen is the man who picked the ultra-busts Joey Harrington, Charles Rogers, and Mike Williams. Now that hes gone we can get better picks. In this next draft, the Lions need to focus on getting out of this hole. Getting Eugene Monroe and Micheal Oher would be good picks for there offensive line if they are available. And Micheal Johnson the defensive end out of Georgia Tech would also be a great pick. But all of this will take a few years of solid drafting to get rid of all of the destruction caused by Matt Millen.
